Spend at least 5 minutes stretching between warm ups and exercises and also after cooling down at the end of your workout session. This advice applies to everyone, whoever you are, whatever level of fitness or ability. STRETCHING IS VERY IMPORTANT
If you stretch and therefore fully lengthen your muscles before you exercise, and fully lengthen them again by stretching after exercising then the risks of injury are greatly reduced.
